Casa Rural situada en un Lugar privilegiado. Cerca del castillo de Butrón. Lugar acogedor. La carretera desde el cruce hacia el castillo es un poco estrecha. Pero merece la pena para disfrutar del paisaje y del caserío. Paz y tranquilidad en un lugar bien cuidado.
Beautiful house in a quiet and beautiful setting. About 30 minutes to Bilbao by car. The house is clean, the owner is very kind, everything is well organized. Perfect place for a weekend brake with kids or friends.
We had a great fortnight at Caserio Butron in July 2018 with 8 adults, four children and a baby. It’s a really lovely house in a beautiful location next to the Butron River. Very well equipped, lots of things for the kids to do; football, basketball, table tennis, kayaking, pool table and a small swimming pool. Outside there is a big table with built in BBQ/pizza oven which catches the evening sun perfectly … we did not eat inside for the entire stay. The surrounding area also has lots of fun places to explore; the fabulous mile long sandy beach at Gorliz is twenty minutes away and great for swimming, body boarding and surfing, we also went to Armintza which had amazing rock pools, The Urdabai estuary for bird watching, and did some stunning cliff walks along the coast. Inland the Gorbeia National Park is an easy drive and is just perfect for hiking, even with little ones; caves, waterfalls, river swimming, canyons, vultures and eagles. There is a metro station 10 minute drive away which takes you into Bilbao and surrounding coastal towns. And of course the food is fabulous everywhere being the Basque Region. Not an area much visited by English tourists due to the chance it may rain now and then … it does, but most days were hot sunny beach weather, perfect if you want to do both beach and exploring, and a lot less crowded than the Spanish Mediterranean coast in July/August. Would highly recommend both the Caserio and the region.
